Terms of Service
Last updated: 5 July 2026
1. About These Terms
These Terms of Service explain the rules for using FoundPhones, including our website, account dashboard, QR-code recovery pages, mobile app features, subscription plans, and related services.
By creating an account, buying a plan, using a QR code, accessing a recovery page, or using any part of FoundPhones, you agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use FoundPhones.
FoundPhones is operated by:
Legal/trading name: Found Phones Email: Support @ foundphones.com
In these Terms, "FoundPhones", "we", "us", and "our" means the business operating the FoundPhones service. "You" means the person or organisation using the service.
2. What FoundPhones Does
FoundPhones helps people recover lost phones by providing a personal recovery page and QR code.
The QR code can be displayed on a phone lock screen, sticker, printed card, device screen, or through compatible app features. If someone finds your phone, they can scan the QR code and view the recovery information you have chosen to make available.
FoundPhones may allow you to:
- Create a personal recovery page
- Generate or use a QR code linked to that page
- Add trusted contacts
- Display limited recovery information to finders
- Offer an optional reward
- Receive scan notifications or view scan activity
- Manage one or more devices depending on your plan
- Use app-based features where available
FoundPhones helps facilitate contact between a finder and the phone owner or trusted contact. We do not physically recover phones, track phones, guarantee recovery, or act as an emergency service.
3. Important Safety Notice
FoundPhones is intended to help with safe phone recovery. You must use common sense when communicating with finders or arranging a return.
You should not meet a stranger alone in an unsafe or isolated place. Where possible, arrange returns in a public place, through a trusted contact, at a business address, or through another safe method.
If you believe your phone has been stolen, or if there is any risk of danger, contact the police or relevant authority. Do not put yourself or anyone else at risk to recover a phone.
4. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use FoundPhones.
If you are under 18, you may only use FoundPhones with permission from a parent or guardian.
If you use FoundPhones on behalf of a business, organisation, family, or another person, you confirm that you have authority to do so and to agree to these Terms on their behalf.
5. Accounts
To use certain features, you may need to create an account.
You agree to:
- Provide accurate and up-to-date information
- Keep your login details secure
- Not share your account password with others
- Tell us if you believe your account has been accessed without permission
- Keep your recovery details and trusted contacts updated
You are responsible for activity on your account unless it was caused by our failure to take reasonable care.
We may refuse, suspend, or close accounts where we reasonably believe the account is being misused, used fraudulently, used unlawfully, or used in breach of these Terms.
6. Recovery Pages and QR Codes
Your QR code links to a recovery page. Anyone who scans the QR code may be able to see the information you have chosen to display.
Depending on your settings, this may include:
- Your display name
- A recovery message
- General location, if provided
- Contact options
- Trusted contact information
- Whether a reward is available
You are responsible for deciding what information appears on your recovery page.
Do not place sensitive, private, unsafe, misleading, offensive, or unlawful content on your recovery page.
We may remove, restrict, or disable a recovery page if we reasonably believe it is being misused or creates a safety, privacy, legal, or security risk.
7. Trusted Contacts
FoundPhones may allow you to add trusted contacts who can help with the return of your phone.
You must only add a trusted contact if they have agreed to be listed.
You are responsible for ensuring trusted contact details are accurate and kept up to date.
A trusted contact may contact us to request removal of their details. We may remove trusted contact information where we reasonably believe consent has not been given or continued listing would be inappropriate.
8. Optional Rewards
FoundPhones may allow you to show that a reward is available for safe return of a phone.
You are solely responsible for any reward you choose to offer.
FoundPhones does not:
- Guarantee that a reward will be paid
- Collect or hold reward money
- Act as an escrow service
- Mediate reward disputes
- Enforce reward promises
- Verify whether a finder is entitled to a reward
If you offer a reward, you must act honestly and lawfully. You should only offer a reward that you are willing and able to pay.
Finders should understand that any reward is arranged directly between the phone owner and the finder, not with FoundPhones.
9. Finders
A finder does not need an account to scan a FoundPhones QR code or access a recovery page.
If you find a phone and scan a FoundPhones QR code, you agree to use the information shown only for the purpose of helping return the phone.
You must not:
- Misuse contact details
- Harass, threaten, spam, or exploit the phone owner or trusted contacts
- Demand money or rewards
- Attempt to access the phone owner's private data
- Sell, keep, damage, or dispose of the phone unlawfully
- Use the recovery page for fraud or impersonation
If you find a phone, you should take reasonable steps to return it safely and lawfully.
10. Plans, Subscriptions, and Payments
FoundPhones may offer different plans, including individual, family, and business plans.
Plan features, device limits, prices, and billing periods are shown on the website, app, or checkout page at the time of purchase.
Plans may be billed annually unless otherwise stated.
By purchasing a plan, you agree to pay the price shown at checkout, including any applicable taxes.
Payments may be handled by our payment provider, Apple App Store, Google Play, or another approved payment processor. Your payment may also be subject to the payment provider's own terms and conditions.
We may change our prices or plan features from time to time. Price changes will not affect the current paid period you have already purchased, unless required by law or clearly stated at the time of purchase.
11. Auto-Renewal
If a plan is sold as a recurring subscription, it may renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date.
Where auto-renewal applies, we will explain this during the purchase process.
You are responsible for cancelling a subscription if you do not want it to renew.
If you bought through an app store, you may need to cancel through your Apple App Store or Google Play account settings. We may not be able to cancel app store subscriptions directly for you.
12. Cancellation Rights
If you are a UK consumer buying online, you may have a legal right to cancel within 14 days of entering into the contract.
However, where you ask us to start providing the service immediately during the cancellation period, you may have to pay for the service already provided.
For digital content or digital services, your cancellation rights may be affected if you expressly agree that access starts immediately and acknowledge that this may limit or remove your right to cancel once the service begins.
We will provide cancellation information during the purchase process where required by law.
To request cancellation, contact us at:
noreply@foundphones.com
Include your account email address and any order reference if available.
This section does not affect your statutory rights.
13. Refunds
Membership fees are non-refundable except where required by law, where stated during the purchase process, or where we choose to offer a refund at our discretion.
Refunds may be available where:
- You exercise a valid legal cancellation right
- We are unable to provide the paid service
- A payment was taken in error
- A refund is required under applicable consumer law
If you purchased through Apple App Store, Google Play, or another third-party payment provider, refund requests may need to be made through that provider.
We are not responsible for delays caused by banks, payment processors, or app store platforms.
14. Business Plans
If you purchase or use a business plan, you confirm that you have authority to manage the devices, users, and recovery information added under that plan.
You are responsible for ensuring that any employees, contractors, customers, or device users are informed about how FoundPhones is being used and what information may appear on recovery pages.
Business users must ensure that their use of FoundPhones complies with applicable employment, privacy, data protection, and device management laws.
15. Acceptable Use
You must not use FoundPhones to:
- Break the law
- Commit fraud

- Attempt to access another user's account
- Interfere with the security or operation of the service
- Scrape, copy, overload, reverse engineer, or attack the service
- Use the service to send spam or unwanted messages
- Use the service in connection with stolen devices or unlawful possession
We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe these rules have been breached.
16. User Content
You are responsible for the information, messages, names, contact details, device descriptions, reward settings, and other content you add to FoundPhones.
You confirm that you have the right to add and use that content.
You give FoundPhones permission to use, display, store, process, and transmit your content only as needed to provide, protect, and improve the service.
You keep ownership of your own content.
We may remove content if we reasonably believe it breaches these Terms, creates a legal risk, creates a safety risk, or affects the proper operation of FoundPhones.
17. Availability of the Service
We aim to provide a reliable service, but we do not guarantee that FoundPhones will always be available, uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every device, browser, lock-screen system, or operating system.

We may update, suspend, withdraw, or change parts of the service where reasonably necessary.
18. Mobile App Features
FoundPhones may offer mobile app features, including lock-screen QR code display, notifications, scan alerts, or other phone recovery tools.
App features may depend on the operating system, device model, permissions, and app store rules.
We cannot guarantee that lock-screen display or notification features will work on every device or remain available after operating system updates.
You are responsible for granting and managing app permissions on your device.
19. Third-Party Services
FoundPhones may rely on third-party services such as hosting providers, email providers, payment processors, analytics tools, app stores, and security tools.
We are not responsible for third-party services that we do not control.
Your use of app stores, payment providers, or third-party platforms may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies.
20. Privacy
Your use of FoundPhones is also governed by our Privacy Policy.
The Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, when recovery information may be shown to finders, and what rights you have.
You should read the Privacy Policy before using FoundPhones.

FoundPhones, including its name, logo, branding, design, software, website content, app content, QR code systems, text, graphics, and other materials, belongs to us or our licensors.

22. Feedback and Suggestions
If you send us feedback, ideas, suggestions, or improvement requests, you agree that we may use them without payment or obligation to you.
This does not transfer ownership of your personal information or private account content.
23. Security
You must not attempt to bypass, damage, test, overload, scan, attack, or interfere with the security of FoundPhones.
If you discover a security issue, you should report it responsibly to:
noreply@foundphones.com
Do not publicly disclose security issues or exploit them.
24. Suspension and Termination

- Your account appears fraudulent or unsafe
- Your recovery page creates a safety, legal, privacy, or security risk
- We are required to do so by law
- We withdraw or discontinue the service
You may stop using FoundPhones at any time.
If your account is closed, your recovery pages and QR codes may stop working.
Termination does not affect rights or obligations that have already arisen.
