Delete your account
Last updated: 30 July 2026
This page explains how to delete your Found Phones account, what happens during the 15-day grace period, and how to recover your account if you change your mind.
For privacy details about what we keep after deletion, see our [Privacy Policy](/privacy).
How to delete your account
On the website
1. Log in to your Found Phones account. 2. Open [Dashboard → Account](/dashboard/account.php). 3. Scroll to Delete account. 4. Enter your current password, confirm that you understand the grace period, and submit.
You will be signed out. Your account is locked straight away.
In the mobile app
1. Open the Found Phones app and sign in. 2. Go to Settings. 3. Choose Delete account and follow the on-screen confirmation (password required).
Store links for the apps are on the [app page](/app) when published.
Admin accounts
Admin accounts cannot be deleted from the dashboard or app. Contact noreply@foundphones.com if you need help.
What happens when you request deletion
As soon as you confirm deletion:
- Your account is locked — you cannot use the dashboard or app normally.
- Your public recovery page goes offline, so finders can no longer open your QR link.
- Lost mode is turned off.
- App login tokens are revoked (you will need to sign in again if you recover the account).
- Your subscription is treated as ended for access purposes.
- We email you a confirmation with the scheduled permanent deletion date and recovery instructions.
The 15-day grace period
Your account is not permanently deleted immediately.
- We keep it in a pending state for 15 days.
- After that date, the account and associated customer data are permanently removed (except limited records we may need to keep for legal, accounting, fraud prevention, security, or dispute reasons — see the [Privacy Policy](/privacy)).
- During the grace period you can cancel deletion and restore access.
How to recover your account
You can cancel deletion any time before the permanent deletion date.
Option 1 — Link in the confirmation email (recommended)
Open the one-click recover link in the email we sent when you requested deletion. That link takes you to a secure recovery page and signs you back in if the request is still pending.
Option 2 — Log in and recover
1. Go to [Log in](/login) with your email and password. 2. If your account is pending deletion, you will be taken to the [account recovery](/account-recovery) page. 3. Choose Recover my account.
If recovery succeeds, your account is active again. Your recovery page can work once more, and you may need to check your plan/subscription status if it had already ended.
If you did not request deletion
Recover the account immediately using the email link or [account recovery](/account-recovery), then change your password. If you cannot access the account, email noreply@foundphones.com or noreply@foundphones.com (for privacy requests) as soon as possible.
